Penedès is the undisputed heartland of Cava, and we spent a spectacular afternoon hopping between boutique vineyards, trading standard tasting rooms for private cellars, and toast-testing crisp, sparkling wines right where the grapes were crushed. It was the ultimate transition from city culture to country leisure.
The Culinary Showstopper: Black Paella
You cannot talk about a Spanish summer without talking about the food, and while our six days were a non-stop parade of patatas bravas and artisanal cheeses, one late-night feast completely stole the show.
We found ourselves tucked away in a lively, tucked-away coastal tavern, the table crowded with laughter and empty wine glasses.
